The Sponge Group (hereinafter Sponge) is committed to digital accessibility in accordance with the European Accessibility Act (the implementation of which in Germany is regulated by the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz) and the WCAG 2.1 guidelines at Level AA. We continuously improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility guidelines. This accessibility statement applies to spongecompliance.com, as well as our learning solutions developed in the future (from 2025 onwards).

Our Commitment

Sponge takes the following measures to ensure the accessibility of its learning solutions:

• Our learning solutions are designed to be operable using a keyboard.
• We strive to ensure that all content is also accessible to users with screen readers and other assistive technologies.
• Our dedicated quality assurance team tests every solution against WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
• We continuously monitor and improve our accessibility features and are committed to best practices in accessibility quality assurance.
• Our solutions support the browser's native zoom function. We ensure that video content includes both subtitles and a transcript.

Known Limitation

We are aware of some accessibility issues on our website (including the following limitations for screen readers: the menu is not easy to navigate; the sliders on the homepage are not accessible; the order in which screen readers read content such as headings and text may differ for certain groups of elements—sometimes the expected reading order is not followed; cases of low color contrast). We are working to address these issues and further improve the accessibility of our website. We plan to address these limitations for screen readers by the end of 2025. We are also aware of some accessibility limitations on our eLS platform. Sponge is working to address these as well.
